You have visited this page probably because you are contemplating to buy a mid sized car for your family which is good enough in terms of budget , looks attractive and gives more per litre, if you fall under this category look no further and go through my article.
I have earned the right to write this article after owning a Suzuki Baleno Delta for more than 4 years now
First and foremost thing why I opted for Baleno is purely based on the looks and the size, dont be surprised that I mentioned size there. I bought my car in 2016 and during that time except for Jazz there were no other hatchback which was as spacious as Baleno , Jazz was more or less outdated even back then due to reasons unknown to me. However when I stepped into Baleno for the first time I was shocked to see the leg room and comfort inside the car, that nailed the deal for me right there. For someone thinking of buying a small car in the range of i10 of Swift, Baleno was a revelation . There was no other small car which was so spacious(not mentioning TATA indica which is always a commerical car), . Baleno is still one of the most spacious cars even compared to the mini sedans.
However my personal opinion about Baleno became more strong when I started hearing this from my colleagues and friends who drove with me over the years in Baleno. Almost everyone who sat inside Baleno for the first time said, "cabin is as big as a regular sedan". The kind of joy one would get when you hear that is unexplainable. !!
Once space and leg room caught up with your heart, your mind revolves around" kitna deti hai- How much does it give", obviously for an Indian , if this doesnt come in your mind, you have some wiring defect. Honestly over the years I have seen my mileage within Chennai city traffic hovering between 15 to 18.5 kmpl. 15 kmpl was when I used to drive harshly , revving up often and trying to win the race at every signal and 18.5 kmpl was when I drove sensibly giving proper time for gear shift and moving up the gears in rational manner but not compromising on speed. For a petrol car that range of mileage is exceptional in city traffic and any middle or upper middle class working professional would do anything to have this car considering the fuel rates are something that you dont want to look at while filling your tank.
Now you see a car which is damn attractive to look at and has the space as good as a 3BHK apartment, quite literally and with a mileage that can make u super rich by savings alone, what else a working professional like me would want more than this.
There are other positives from Baleno like the pickup of the car, boot space etc. These are generally good in all Maruti Suzuki cars and in city traffic this doesnt make a big difference, hence I have not mentioned it earlier. However I must say, Baleno peppy engine is a big selling point and it makes us go crazy while driving in high speed.
Dont think I am only talking positives of the car, this article is supposed to be about my companion and I can only say good about him as I love him. You can ask his enemy about his negatives, there are many.
